Stephanie Johnson, PharmD

PGY1 Residency Program Director
Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Medicine
Stephanie is the Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at  HCA Florida Northside Hospital. She graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She completed both a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Following residency, Stephanie joined the HCA Florida Northside Hospital team to pilot the emergency medicine pharmacy services. She serves as a preceptor for APPE pharmacy students and will be precepting the Emergency Medicine I and Emergency Medicine II rotations within the residency program. Her professional interest areas include trauma resuscitation, anticoagulation reversal, toxicology, and precepting. Stephanie is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, hiking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Abdel Bello, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, CPh

Pharmacy Operations Coordinator

Dr. Bello obtained a doctorate degree from Chicago State University College of Pharmacy. His passion for pharmacy stemmed out of his strong desire to improve care through safe and effective practice of patient centered pharmacotherapy. After graduating from pharmacy school, Dr. Bello completed a post-graduate year 1 residency at Ascension St Vincent’s Riverside. He then worked as rotating clinical pharmacist covering emergency medicine, oncology and critical care units. Dr. Bello also co-edited The Apothecary, Ascension Riverside institution newsletter. Under his leadership, The Apothecary won the 2019 FSHP institutional newsletter award.  Dr. Bello was the clinical coordinator of pharmacy services at HCA Florida Largo Hospital and Residency Program Coordinator. He is currently operations coordinator of pharmacy services at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Dr. Bello is passionate about teaching and enjoys precepting students and residents. He is also a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist and board certified critical care pharmacist. Dr. Bello has held multiple leadership roles over the years within Southwest Florida Society of Health System Pharmacists and Society of Critical Care Medicine Florida Chapter.

Larry Weiss, PharmD, CPh, BCCCP, BCPS

Director of Pharmacy

Larry is the Director of Pharmacy at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Larry has a BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009 and subsequently completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency in 2010 at AdventHealth Orlando. Larry has been a pharmacist for 13 years, and has 5 years of pharmacy leadership experience. He is an active member of Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP) Southwest Society and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. In his free time Larry enjoys travel and spending time outdoors.

Jerzi Bauza, PharmD

Clinical Pharmacist

Jerzi spent his late childhood and teenage years in Saint Petersburg, Florida. After completing a bachelors in biomedical science at the University of South Florida, he earned his doctor of pharmacy degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton. Throughout his years of academia Jerzi developed a passion for biochemistry, molecular biology, and molecular cancer as he tutored these subjects during his four years at LECOM. Following graduation, Jerzi worked for a retail pharmacy as a lead pharmacist where he developed and acquired excellent patient care skills and great pharmacy management experience. He then transitioned to HCA Florida Northside Hospital as a clinical/lead pharmacist. As a clinical pharmacist Jerzi is committed to provide high quality patient care by applying various pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacokinetic concepts of pharmacy. In addition, Jerzi has joined the West Florida Division Antibiotic Stewardship Committee where his main focus is to ensure an appropriate process for antibiotic stewardship is in place throughout the West Division facilities. Jerzi has also been involved in the execution of many operational tasks on a daily basis in the central pharmacy. Jerzi is expanding his clinical skills to emergency medicine as he completes the Emergency Medicine training provided by ASHP. He has great aspirations and continues to advance in the profession of pharmacy as he is prepares to take board certification in the near future.

Abel Carranza, PharmD, BCPS

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Abel Carranza, PharmD, BCPS is a Clinical Pharmacist at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Originally from South Florida, Abel graduated from University of Florida with a BS in Biology. Afterward, he attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where he earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy. He completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health in Stuart, FL. Post-residency, Abel joined HCA Florida Northside Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Abel is an active member of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP) Southwest Society and is passionate about the profession of Pharmacy.

Brad Hoffman, PharmD

Clinical Pharmacist

Brad is a Clinical Pharmacist at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Brad was born and raised in Jupiter, Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University and received his PharmD at Auburn University. Brad completed his PGY1 pharmacy residency here at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Brad’s interests in pharmacy are internal medicine and infectious disease. Currently, Brad serves as the Internal Medicine pharmacist rounding with a hospitalist team daily. Brad is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and plans to take his first board certification this year. In his free time, Brad enjoys watching college football and working on his cars.

Brandyn Hall, PharmD

Pharmacist

Brandyn is one of the evening quarterback pharmacists at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. He graduated with his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH. He completed his undergraduate at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where he was also a member of the baseball team. Brandyn spent 4 years as a pharmacy intern at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, OH. After moving to Sarasota in 2021, he worked with CVS and per diem at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Brandyn joined the HCA Florida Northside Hospital team as a full time pharmacist in 2023. In his free time he enjoys sporting events and playing golf.

Paula auf dem Kampe, PharmD, MBA, BCPS

Clinical Coordinator

Paula is the Clinical Coordinator of Pharmacy Services at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida in 2001, she graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida. After graduating, she accepted a position as a full-time pharmacist at Walgreens.  In 2011, she accepted a PRN position at Edward White Hospital and shifted focus to Medication Therapy Management while at Walgreens. The following year, she accepted a full-time position as a clinical pharmacist at Edward White Hospital and has been with HCA since. She has 3 years of pharmacy leadership experience as both clinical coordinator and manager of pharmacy services.  Her professional interest areas include infectious diseases and internal medicine. Paula is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In her free time, Paula enjoys traveling, reading, and learning crafts.

Current residents

Dhara Patel, PharmD

Dhara is a current PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at HCA Northside Hospital. She is from Lakeland, Florida but was born in New Jersey. She moved down to Florida when she was 2 years old and has lived here ever since. She graduated from the University of Florida for undergrad (Go Gators!) and attended pharmacy school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Sarasota, FL. She worked at Publix as a technician and intern for the last 7 years and worked for AdventHealth Carrollwood for the past year. Dhara is a first-generation graduate and the first in her family to become a medical professional. She enjoys watching reality TV, going to Universal Studios, traveling, and exploring new places. She plans to pursue a PGY2 in Emergency Medicine and ultimately would like to pilot a new emergency medicine pharmacy program.

Parth Saraiya, PharmD

Parth is a current PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. Parth was raised in North Brunswick, NJ. He received his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University and PharmD at Temple University School of Pharmacy. Parth's current pharmacy interests include emergency medicine and transplant medicine. He looks forward to obtaining his BCPS upon finishing his residency. Outside of pharmacy, Parth enjoys spending time with friends and loved ones, testing new recipes in the kitchen, and rooting on his favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles.
