Joint replacement surgery

Joint replacement surgery helps relieve pain and restore function and movement to the affected joints. We provide comprehensive joint replacement solutions for hips, knees and shoulders. In fact, our dedicated program has earned us accreditation from The Joint Commission for knee and hip replacement surgeries.

You may be a candidate for joint replacement surgery if:

  • Nonsurgical treatments, such as anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid injections or physical therapy, have not provided relief for you.
  • You have moderate to severe arthritis in your joint, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or post-traumatic arthritis.
  • You have reduced range of motion during normal activities.
  • Your pain is present when resting.
Knee replacement

Total knee replacement caps the ends of the bones that form the knee joint. A partial knee replacement replaces only the damaged part of the knee joint with a prosthetic implant.

Hip replacement

Partial hip replacement involves removing the ball (femoral head) of the hip joint and replacing it with a prosthesis. This procedure does not replace the socket.

Total hip replacement surgery removes both the ball and socket (acetabulum) and replaces them with prosthetic implants. We also perform anterior hip replacement, which is a minimally invasive and muscle-sparing approach to traditional hip replacement surgery.

Shoulder replacement

Shoulder replacement surgery involves replacing the upper part of the arm bone (humerus) and/or the socket (glenoid) in the shoulder joint with metal or plastic components.

Robot-assisted joint replacement

Robotic surgery is a minimally invasive approach that requires only small incisions and uses advanced technology. Our surgeons use real-time information and images to precisely place joint implants.

Benefits of robotic surgery include:

  • Faster recovery from surgery due to minimally invasive techniques
  • Decreased risk of the implant and bone abnormally rubbing together, improving the lifetime of the implant

If your surgeon determines you are a good candidate for a robot-assisted joint replacement, they will schedule a computerized tomography (CT) scan of your joint one to two weeks prior to your surgery date. This will be used to create your unique surgical plan.

That's why the spine care specialists at our Spine Center provide treatment for a variety of spine conditions, including lower back pain, neck fractures and slipped discs.
