HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital names Kristy Desfosses as new chief nursing officer.
HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital has appointed Kristy Desfosses as its new chief nursing officer. She will provide strategic leadership for the hospital’s nursing department, manage clinical quality and patient safety and direct the recruitment, training and professional development of the hospital’s growing nursing staff.
Kristy has more than 20 years of clinical and nursing leadership experience, including driving effective strategies that focus on enhancing nursing practice and improving patient outcomes, care experience and quality.
She most recently served as assistant chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. Prior to joining Fawcett in October of last year, she served as the assistant chief nursing officer at LewisGale Medical Center, where she improved patient throughput, quality measures and productivity. In that role, she also ensured structural alignment with strategic goals by spearheading development of accountability structure and key performance measures for clinical leaders.
Kristy holds a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Walden University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Besides adding to its nursing ranks, the hospital is nearing completion on a $60M expansion and renovation project including the addition of ICU beds, operating rooms, and a renovation of the main lobby, registration and waiting areas.
