“I knew something was wrong when I started blacking out; serious issues with my blood pressure. I appreciate Osceola Regional for everything they have done for me. Now, it’s my turn to pay it forward. A year ago I decided to grow out my beard. The best part is when children think I’m the real Santa when I’m dresses in regular clothing. It happens when I’m running errands; they approach me and start talking to me to their parent’s bewilderment. So I immediately jump into character. I even made my own Santa ID card! I do this because I have come to realize that being Santa is a 24/7 all year round job. Children become aware of my presence. They watch how I behave and I have to set a good example. Plus it’s such a joy to bring a little sunshine into people’s lives. I want to make a difference!”
After suffering a massive heart attack and needing to be resuscitated twice, Miguel Herrera says he has always been a fighter and continues to stand strong thanks to the care he received at Osceola Hospital.
