Englewood Hospital demonstrates community commitment through volunteering in 2023

In 2023, hospital colleagues contributed over 300 hours of volunteer service to community initiatives.

Englewood, Fla. — HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is proud to announce its remarkable impact on Charlotte and Sarasota Counties in 2023 through the dedicated volunteer efforts of its colleagues, strategic partnerships and generous donations.

Joe Rudisill, CEO of HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, expressed enthusiasm about the hospital’s impact, stating, “Not only do we provide compassionate care for the patients that visit our hospital, but we also strive to make the community where we live and work stronger through the volunteer activities of our colleagues and partnerships with community organizations.”

Colleague Volunteering: In 2023, Englewood Hospital colleagues contributed over 300 hours of volunteer service to community initiatives, including healthcare outreach, social services and educational programs. Their commitment to giving back demonstrates the hospital’s culture of extending care beyond the clinical setting and fostering community wellbeing. The top organizations reached were:

  • American Heart Association
  • Charlotte County Homeless Coalition
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • JRDF International Education Charlotte and Sarasota Counties
  • Sarasota County Schools
  • Sky Family YMCA
  • St. David’s Jubilee Food Pantry
  • State College of Florida
  • Suncoast Blood Center

Hospital Partnerships: As part of an ongoing commitment to the community, Englewood Hospital has forged meaningful partnerships and has made substantial contributions to local charities, both of which are intended to address diverse healthcare needs. These partnerships are focused on increasing opportunity and access to healthcare careers, advocating and promoting heart health for all communities, and championing mental wellness.
