Fawcett Hospital celebrates progress on its third freestanding emergency room, marking a key milestone in expanding ER care access.
Port Charlotte, FL — HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital recently hosted a steel beam signing event marking a milestone in the construction of the hospital’s third freestanding emergency room. The new emergency center, HCA Florida West Fort Myers Emergency, is located at 8919 College Pointe Ct, Fort Myers, FL 33919. The 10,820 square foot facility is a part of HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with full-service emergency services, including laboratory, x-rays, CT scanning and ultrasound.
“We are excited to expand our emergency services into Fort Myers and surrounding communities,” said Michael Ehrat, CEO at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. “HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital continues to grow to meet the needs of the communities we serve to help ensure residents can receive quality health care services.”
The freestanding emergency is projected to open in fall 2024 and will be the second in Lee County. HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital opened its first, HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency, in June 2022. This was followed by the June 2023 opening of HCA Florida Tamiami Trail Emergency in northern Charlotte County.
