Northside Hospital celebrates pharmacy residency program success
St. Petersburg, FL – HCA Florida Northside Hospital proudly congratulates its pharmacy residents on securing prestigious specialty residency positions during the National Match Day event for students in the medical field. This further demonstrates the program’s commitment to training the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
- Neshae Ashford has matched with the post graduate year two (PGY-2) Critical Care Residency Program at North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System.
- Jennifer Tyler has matched with the PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant Pharmacy Residency Program at Temple Health.
The pharmacy residency program at Northside Hospital is designed to develop highly skilled clinical pharmacists through immersive training in emergency care, internal medicine and critical care specialties. The program’s experienced faculty and structured rotations provide residents with the tools they need to succeed in specialized pharmacy careers.

Nationwide, there are over 5,400 pharmacy residents training in more than 2,600 residency programs and demand for residency positions continues to rise.
Florida alone hosts more than 50 post graduate year one (PGY-1) and 30+ PGY-2 programs, reinforcing the state’s role in developing top-tier pharmacy professionals.
Beyond pharmacy, HCA Florida Northside Hospital offers a range of residency training opportunities in cardiology, emergency care, neurological care, orthopedic care, palliative care, outpatient rehabilitation, surgery and urology, reinforcing its role as a premier institution for clinical education. Its Graduate Medical Education Program welcomed two Cardiology fellows and six Internal Medicine residents who will start in July for the academic year 2025-2026.
