HCA Florida Healthcare, one of the state’s leading networks of hospitals and healthcare facilities, announced the completion of the structural phase of the construction project for HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital at the project’s Topping Out Ceremony. Community partners and hospital team members were invited to sign the final beam for the structure, which “tops out” the building. The new $231 million HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital is the latest hospital planned as part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s expansion across the state.

"We are extremely grateful to the incredible construction team that has worked tirelessly to bring HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital to life,” said C. Eric Lawson, chief executive officer of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. “This construction milestone is not just about bricks and mortar; it is a testament to our unwavering dedication to expanding healthcare access and making a positive impact on our community. I look forward to the many lives we will touch and the legacy of healing that will continue for generations at this new hospital."

The new hospital is targeted to open in early 2026 at 4094 SW 41st Boulevard and will build upon the existing HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency Room, which remains open to serve the community during the hospital construction project. HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital will include a surgical services department, a catheterization lab, 60 medical/surgical beds, a 30-bed in-patient rehabilitation unit, and a full complement of imaging services available for the community. The hospital is anticipated to house more than 200 colleagues, including physicians, other healthcare professionals and support personnel.

HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital is a part of HCA Florida Healthcare.  With more than 84,000 colleagues, HCA Florida Healthcare’s comprehensive network is a family of more than 650 affiliated sites of care, including hospitals, physician practices, freestanding emergency rooms and urgent care centers.
