HCA Florida Northside Hospital CEO honored
St. Petersburg, FL –The Woodson African American Museum of Florida announced that our very own Valerie Powell-Stafford, FACHE, CEO, HCA Florida Northside Hospital is being recognized as a “2023 First Lady in African American History” honoree. The Woodson African American Museum of Florida’s Board of Directors recognizes the significant accomplishments of those who have contributed to excellence in African American history and contributors to further causes relative to advancing Black culture.

“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Woodson African American Museum of Florida” said Valerie Powell-Stafford, CEO HCA Florida Northside Hospital. “It is humbling to be included with this group of exceptional women.
Prior to becoming the CEO at HCA Florida Northside Hospital in April 2019, Valerie held a number of executive leadership positions in HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals. She has served on the boards of the American College of Healthcare Executives, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Executive Cabinet of Tampa Bay and the Professional Advisory Board of Galen School of Nursing. She received a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in health administration from Indiana University. Board certified in healthcare management as an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Fellow, she is also a recipient of the ACHE Exemplary Service Award.
