JoAnne Masongsong announced as new Chief Nursing Officer of Osceola Hospital

JoAnne Masongsong is announced as Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, effective September 3, 2024.

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital announced the appointment of JoAnne Masongsong, as Chief Nursing Officer of HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, effective September 3, 2024. In her new role, Masongsong will oversee the hospital nursing team and several departments to include the Emergency Departments, Women’s Services, and Critical Care Units at the 407-bed acute care hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center.

 Masongsong joins HCA Florida Osceola Hospital with more than 20 years of healthcare experience having served 13 years in various nursing leadership roles. She has most recently served as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) at St. David’s Medical Center, a 435-bed facility in Austin, Texas and a part of HCA Healthcare’s Central / West Texas Division.

In her role as ACNO at St. David’s Medical Center, Masongsong provided strategic leadership over nursing operations, critical care, emergency services, electrophysiology, women’s services, NICU, surgical oncology, telemetry, and many more critical hospital departments. Masongsong also led the ANCC Magnet Designation while at St. David’s Medical Center in addition to achieving substantial reduction in employee turnover. Masongsong led year-over-year improvements in employee engagement, patient experience, recruitment, retention, throughput, and quality metrics.

Prior to joining St. David’s Medical Center, Masongsong was the ACNO at HCA Healthcare’s Round Rock Medical Center, 209-bed facility, and a Level 2 Trauma Center as well as a Level 2 NICU in Round Rock, Texas. She played a pivotal role in helping St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center achieve their ANCC Magnet Designation. Masongsong also served as the Director of Nursing in the ED at Round Rock Medical Center as well as other nursing leadership roles at other healthcare facilities in California and Florida.

Masongsong received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.

Masongsong and her wife, Stefanie, are both from Florida and are excited to be moving back home and being closer to their families. Masongsong is also a former junior national tennis champion and a Division I tennis player at the University of Texas in Austin. When Masongsong is not at work you will likely catch her on the pickleball court.
