South Tampa Hospital breaks ground on the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery Research Center

The research center is a part of the HCA Healthcare Research Institute site network.

Tampa, FL —  HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its new Hospital for Endocrine Surgery Research Center, a cutting-edge initiative focused on advancing medical innovation and improving patient outcomes.  A special ceremony was recently held to mark this important milestone, reflecting the hospital’s continued dedication to improving care for patients with endocrine tumors.  

“The Research Center will serve as a crucial hub for advancing research in adrenal, thyroid and parathyroid tumors, bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and patient care,” said Fabio Faucz, PhD, lead investigator for the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery Research Center. “Our goal is to push the boundaries of medical science, bringing innovative solutions from the lab to the bedside and ultimately enhancing the quality of care for patients.”     

By integrating clinical expertise with innovative research, the center aims to identify biomarkers and develop new diagnostic and treatment strategies to improve prognoses, outcomes and quality of life.

The creation of the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery Research Center and HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital’s ongoing participation in research are examples of some of the ways HCA Healthcare uses its combined resources and its experience from 43 million annual patient encounters to strengthen hospitals, deliver patient-focused care and improve the practice of medicine. HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is one of 44 HCA Healthcare sites, including 9 in the HCA Florida Healthcare network, that participates in research supported by the HCA Healthcare Research Institute.  The unique, multispecialty clinical research organization brings together pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners with community-based providers affiliated with HCA Healthcare to advance medicine. The institute is committed to advancing care for each patient through their affiliated network of providers and sites. 

The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery Research Center is a part of the HCA Healthcare Research Institute site network.
